Stump & Root-Ball Grinding · Brisbane Bayside & Redlands
No stump too big —
or too deeply buried.
Stump grinding is all we do — from the tight, hard-to-reach stumps the big machines skip, to large root-balls ground out below ground level.
Our specialty
Tight & Restricted-Access Stump Grinding
This is what sets us apart. Our hand-held grinder reaches the stumps the big machines can't — behind retaining walls, inside raised garden beds, in tight courtyards and down narrow side passages. If a tree lopper has already told you it's too hard to get to, that's exactly the job we want. We carry the gear in by hand and grind it out without touching your fences or pavers.
- Hand-carried grinder for gates, paths and side access
- Behind retaining walls and in raised garden beds
- Courtyards, enclosed yards and tight corners
- No heavy machinery driven across your lawn
Clean, level ground — ready to turf, pave or plant

Service 02
Stump Grinding & Removal
For the big jobs we bring the Vermeer 252 — a purpose-built stump grinder that chews through large, deep and stubborn stumps. We grind well below ground level so you can turf, pave, plant or build straight over the top. You're left with clean, level ground and no trip hazard — not a half-finished stump poking through the grass.
- Ground below the surface, not just shaved off
- Large-diameter and old, hardened stumps
- Ready to turf, pave, plant or build over
- Mulch raked up and tidied before we leave

Service 03
Root-Ball Grinding & Removal
A tree isn't really gone until the roots are dealt with. We grind out sprawling surface roots and root-balls that lift pavers, crack paths and re-sprout into new growth. Left alone, those roots keep spreading toward your pipes and foundations — so we clear them properly and leave the ground ready to reclaim.
- Surface roots that lift pavers and crack paths
- Root-balls left after a tree removal
- Stops regrowth and re-sprouting
- Protects pipes, paving and foundations

The right gear for the job
Two machines, every stump covered.
Vermeer 252 — the big jobs
A purpose-built stump grinder for the large, deep and hardened stumps. It grinds well below the surface so you're left with level ground.
Hand-held grinder — the tight ones
Carried in by hand through standard gates and narrow side access. Reaches the stumps a tow-behind machine can't — with no mess across your lawn.
Can you grind stumps in tight or hard-to-reach spots?
Yes — it's our specialty. We use a hand-carried grinder that gets through standard gates and down narrow side access, so stumps behind retaining walls, in raised beds and in tight courtyards are no problem. If you've been told a stump is too hard to reach, ask us first.
How much does stump grinding cost?
Every stump is different — size, hardness, access and how many you've got all change the price. That's why we give a free, no-obligation on-site quote rather than a vague phone figure. You'll know the cost before any work starts.
Will grinding damage my lawn, pavers or pipes?
No. Grinding the stump out is far gentler on your yard than digging it. Our tight-access gear means we don't drive heavy machinery across your lawn, and we work carefully around paving, retaining walls and services.
What happens to the mulch and mess?
Grinding turns the stump into mulch. We rake it up and tidy the area before we leave — you can keep the mulch for the garden or we can clear it. Either way you're not left with a pile to deal with.
Will the stump grow back?
Not once it's ground out properly. We grind well below ground level and deal with surface roots, which stops the re-sprouting you get when a stump is only cut low. The ground is left ready to plant or build over.
What areas do you service?
We're locals — we cover the Brisbane bayside and the Redlands, including Cleveland, Capalaba, Wynnum, Wellington Point, Birkdale, Thornlands, Victoria Point and the surrounding suburbs. Not sure if you're in range? Give us a call.
Free on-site quote
Got a stump in an awkward spot?
